Nestled in the picturesque village of Dol on the island of Vis, Konoba Dol is not just a restaurant; it's a culinary haven where tradition meets flavor. Renowned for its authentic Croatian cuisine, this cozy eatery invites you to a dining experience that tantalizes your taste buds while leaving you with a sense of home.

The culinary star at Konoba Dol is undoubtedly the meat peka, a traditional dish that undergoes a careful, slow-cooking process beneath a cast iron bell that seals in rich flavors and aromas. Guests rave about the attention to detail, with reviews praising the unforgettable tenderness of the octopus and the delightful seafood offerings. As one satisfied patron, Eider O, stated, “the most tender octopus I’ve ever had,” a sentiment echoed by many who take the plunge into this delightful dish.

Each meal at Konoba Dol is more than just food; it's artfully presented, elevating the dining experience to one of visual delight as well. Mirza Muftic encapsulates this perfectly, calling it “one of the best peka I’ve had so far,” emphasizing the connection between the quality of the food and the warm, friendly ambiance fostered by the staff.

As you step inside, you're immediately welcomed by a warm atmosphere that feels like a cherished family gathering. The friendly staff is always ready with a smile, creating an inviting space where guests feel valued. An attentive waitress, as noted by Dragan Milosevic, adds to the overall charm. It’s advisable to book in advance, especially for the much-sought-after peka, which requires preparation ahead of time—a true testament to its popularity.

In addition to the peka, diners can indulge in homemade specialties touted for their fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. From the fragrant spices to the succulent meats and colorful presentations, every dish tells a story rooted in tradition and passion.

So, whether you're a local or a visitor exploring the beautiful island of Vis, make sure to carve out an evening to savor the culinary delights at Konoba Dol. With outstanding dishes, inviting service, and an ambiance that feels like coming home, it's a dining destination that promises to linger long in your memory—and urge you to return again and again.

Meat peka was delicious! The staff was also super friendly. Make sure to book in advance in case you want peka because they have to prepare it way before you arrive.

I can see why my bf really likes this place. Unfortunately, we did not order optimally this time. The fish soup was a bit bland for me, the fried squid had excellent dip but was a bit rubbery (altho fried was like half the price of grilled so it could just be a lower quality specifically for fried), and the octopus peka was very salty (my bf liked the lamb peka that he got last time better), altho the dishes were all giant and at great prices. The grilled vegetables were my favorite. Cash only. Outdoor seating area is beautiful with sweet kitties who beg with their eyes ⬛

This was one of the most memorable and amazing meals of my life. This restaurant is completely family run with home cooked food. The mother picked us up and brought us to the restaurant and back and the daughter served us. The food was all home made or locally sourced on the island. Standouts for me were the local fish used in the appetizer course, the octopus peka, the dessert figs using their grandmother’s recipe, and the grandfather’s home made rakija.

This is amazing place and you will feel here as at home. We ate a first class fish and fried squids. Both of them was delicious. We have never before eat so tasty dinner. You need taste home made figs. The waitress was very nice, well prepared and honest. She was happy to tell you a family stories, and triva about Vis island. You can easily go with car, they have a large and cover with concrete parking. Don't be afraid of road. If we come back to the Vis we definitely visit Konoba Dol again. The prices are honest and you will not pay to much.
